I want to paint a very old antique chair black with gold accents in the carved areas and lightly on the tops of the barley twist arms before having the chair recovered. What is the best way to achieve this?
Hi Brenda
If you plan on getting the chair upholstered, just spray it black and hand paint in the gold details. Sometimes with hand painting, you can see the paint lines, compared to spraying. After your chair is sprayed, you can distress and add the gold.
