Gold adorned furniture is often achieved through the process of gold leafing. Thin layers of gold leaf are carefully applied to a piece of furniture which gives a lustrous feel of real metal. Often times gold leaf is applied to decorative designs, or ornaments hammered on to the furniture, and other times the entire chest is finished in gold leaf.
